Cleaning is essential for all powder coated surfaces in order to maintain the original performance characteristics of the coating.
Coastal environments contain chlorides and city environments contain chloride and sulphur compounds which can induce corrosion on powder coated surfaces.
Grime can also absorb moisture and hold the moisture against the powder coated surface which can also induce corrosive attach and damage the coating.
Australian Standard AS 3715 recommends the following cleaning schedule and the cleaning method depends on the degree and rate of contamination.
