5 Splashback Designs Trending in 2021

One of the toughest decisions to make when renovating or building a new kitchen is choosing your splashback design! While neutral colours and subway tiles conquered last year’s kitchen trends, we expect to see more organic colour tones, natural textures and bold designs in 2021.

To help you with this decision, or just inspire you with some fresh kitchen ideas, here are our top splashbacks trends to keep your eye on.

Textures

A movement towards more tactile and raw textures will heavily contribute to kitchen design choices in 2021. Metallic, timber and brick features will all be welcomed into contemporary kitchen designs.

DecoSplash presents an easy-to-install, lightweight alternative when wanting to incorporate materials like brick or timber into your kitchen. Offering a range of splashback designs from exposed brick to polished concrete, DecoSplash can replicate any raw material on an aluminium splashback, recreating your favourite aesthetic while saving you on install time and costs.

Warm and Organic Colours

Organic and natural colour palettes will be a popular choice this year, as predicted in the 2021 Dulux Colour Forecast. Kitchen designs will feature earthy hues and warm neutral tones integrated into the cabinetry and splashbacks, evoking a sense of comfort and calmness.

Natural Stones

Fitting nicely with the trend towards more natural finishes, quartz stone and marble splashbacks are beautiful materials for both splashbacks and benchtops. Natural stone is very popular for its seamless and luxurious feel; however, it become an expensive addition to the home.

DecoSplash is a cost-effective and low maintenance option that can also achieve a natural stone or marble look for your splashback. Our marble, travertine and terrazzo designs look equally at home among both classic kitchens and contemporary designs.

Bold Patterns and Designs

The splashback is a great place to create some fun in the kitchen. Expect to see unique geometric patterns, mosaics and bold colour choices this year. If your kitchen has a neutral colour palette, a bold splashback can be a great way to add visual interest to the space. 2021 will turn the spotlight on design styles that reference Art Deco, mid-century modern and Scandinavian style.

Kit kat

Tiles are timeless and will always be a favourite, but they are constantly evolving to meet new trends. Move over subway tiles and hello kit kat! We are starting to see more and more of these small rectangle tiles, and they proved to be a popular choice on the most recent season of Channel 9’s The Block.

DecoSplash can recreate all the classics as well as the on-trend kit kat tiles while alleviating the burden of grimy grout lines and finicky installation.
