International Women's Day (IWD) provides a key moment to celebrate women's achievements in the workplaceand showcase employer initiatives and support. As the biggest employee engagement day of the year, IWD sees organisations from a range of industries amplify and reinforce their commitment to helping forge an inclusive world. 

This year, DECO was proud to be a part of not one but two IWD events in our industry. We proudly hosted an IWD morning tea for all staff at the Minto site in Sydney's Wes to reflect on the role women have played in the formation of our company and celebrate the impact they have had, and continue to have, on our industry. DECO is proud to have a 41% female employment rate, well above the industry average of 29%. The morning tea was well received by staff alongside a powerful address by DECO's General Manager, Richard Hamber and youngest daughter of Director Ross Doonan, Claire Doonan. 

In addition, DECO were also thrilled to be a sponsor at the Cottee Parker Architects International Women's Day breakfast in Brisbane. With a shared vision to empower women in the property development industry, our Queensland team proudly attended and enjoyed a breakfast bbq.

DECO is committed to gender equality and will continue to be a pioneer in the manufacturing industry with hopes that other organisations will also follow suit.
