DECO's Splashback Trends for 2019

Are you building or renovating your home this year? Are you considering different splashback ideas? Kitchen Splashbacks come in an extensive range of materials, colours and patterns. Whether you are after a seamless flow between cabinets and benchtops or wanting a bold statement piece, all can be achieved with the ease and beauty of DecoSplash. Here are DECO’s predicted kitchen splashback trends for 2019.

1. Embracing Nature

Glass window splashbacks were a great design feature last year, and one that we expect to remain a trend for 2019. We particularly love the use of plants and greenery behind the window, making it a stunning feature for any home or space. If a window is simply not possible for your home, consider the DecoSplash Nature Collection – a popular choice is Bamboo Forest and Autumn Forest. A nature splashback brings the outside in, looks beautiful, and brightens up your space.

2. Bold & Patterned

Countertops and cabinetry can often be very neutral these days, so homeowners and designers are wanting features that will stand out in a space and turn heads. Pantone’s colour of the year is Living Coral – “An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge”. We are expecting to see bathrooms and kitchens take on a bolder and more exciting look this year. Dark shades of navy will remain a strong choice, but some will embrace vivacious colours such as Living Coral.  Bold and patterned splashbacks will be a fun and new trend for 2019.

3. Rustic Timber

With the large and beautiful range of timber types and colours available, it’s no surprise the timber-look is a popular choice amongst trendsetters. We expect to see the timber-look make its way into the top splashback trends this year. If this is a look you are wanting to achieve, explore our DecoSplash Timber Collection - a stunning Splashback range that’s easy to install and hassle free.

4. Raw Texture

One of the biggest trends this year amongst homeowners and designers will be the beautiful raw texture of concrete. The industrial / urban look will be a very popular choice - paired with darker palettes, wooden accents and raw material features. Create a statement in your home with a concrete-look splashback by DecoCrete.

5. Single Stone Slab

Want a splashback that screams luxury and quality? The beautiful features of stone can often be forgotten about and unappreciated when used as countertop, however, when installed vertically as splashback they become a striking feature and focal point of that space. Marble is a natural stone, and one that creates a truly timeless feel within the kitchen or bathroom. It works well within a contemporary environment but can be applied to traditional styles as well. To achieve this look at a fraction of the cost, consider DecoRoccia - a beautiful aluminium alternative to real marble, that will stand the test of time.
