DECO Australia’s aluminium cladding system, DecoClad®, has officially passed the stringent weatherproofing requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC) through successful testing to Australian Standard 4284.

The third-party testing, conducted by Azuma Design, involved a custom-built rig with DecoClad® boards, accessories, and a window. The system was subjected to cyclonic wind pressures up to 2500 Pa (equivalent to 160 km/h winds) and water penetration tests up to 1500 Pa - proving its durability against extreme weather.  

“Passing this testing confirms DecoClad® not only delivers architectural appeal, but also the performance and safety modern facades require,” said Richard Hamber, General Manager at DECO Australia.

This certification gives builders, designers, and architects confidence that DecoClad® meets the NCC’s strict facade standards, ensuring long-term protection for buildings and occupants.
