The brand new Brighton Lakes Golf and Recreational Club in Moorebank, New South Wales features DecoWood timber look battens on their grand entrance in two creative applications.
The underside of the soffit lining was enhanced with 100 x 50 mm DecoBatten sections coated with the warm DecoWood finish Casuarina. The same profiles were used vertically to create architectural features for the office windows that doubled as privacy screens.
The Mirvac development preferred DecoWood due to the numerous issues associated with timber. Traditional wood battens require regular sanding and painting, lose colour in sunny applications and are susceptible to degradation and termite attack.
DecoWood produces the same effect as timber for a lower installed cost, especially when comparing larger batten sizes. The DecoWood wood grain powder coating never needs painting and is classified as Super Durable, making it 50% more durable than standard powder coatings.
DecoBatten is available in a range of sizes from 50 x 50 mm up to 200 x 50 mm and beyond. DecoBatten is popularly used in architectural applications to create the effect of large wooden beams and clean, contemporary styling that stays within budget.
