This month we're officially launching our beautiful and durable signage product, DecoSign. DECO has been producing signage since our inception in 2004, however it really kicked off last year when Sydney Trains used it for all station, wayfinding and notice signs throughout their entire network of stations and buildings.
What is DecoSign? Strong, flat aluminium sheets are powder coated and then a custom image is sublimated onto the surface using DecoArt technology. Precision is achieved by using a photographic image, and the image can't peel or rub off because it is baked into the powder coating.
The powder coating isn't any old powder coating either. It has a 10 year warranty and has undergone thousands of hours of testing in extreme weather conditions such as harsh sunlight and salt spray to prove the durability of the finish, so it's perfect for outdoor applications. DecoSign has a non-shiny finish which assists with visibility, particularly for vision-impaired people.
DecoSign was also used last year for a striking facade to Melbourne's Aquinas College, where the logo's simple, bold lettering was applied to large, perforated sheet aluminium (image below). Signage can be applied to sheets of aluminium with decorative cut outs or large sizes up to 3.6 x 1.5 metres. It has been the preferred choice time and time again for its physical lightness which makes it easier to install, particularly at heights.
