Altitude Co. are an experienced construction company in Melbourne, managing residential and commercial developments across Australia including apartment complexes, university buildings, display centres and more. When they undertook the renovation of a wing of Malvern’s Cabrini Hospital, their search for an attractive yet low-maintenance decking product, that would retain its appearance even in a busy hospital setting, led them to DECO.

Why did you choose DECO for this project?

“There were lots of reasons…the longevity of the product in terms of looks, the durability, the fact that it retains 50% less heat than timber, the colour range and the size of the boards available.”

What do you like most about the product?

“The longevity and the lack of maintenance – we needed something that unlike timber doesn’t need a lot of upkeep. That’s one if its biggest advantages.”

What were the most important considerations for this project?

“A lot had to do with the design of the building – patients in the wing will be able to look out onto the decking, and it needed to be in keeping with the design of the building; the way it was installed needed to factor in the curved features.”
