NSW Labour MP and Member for Macquarie Fields Anoulack Chanthivong visited our factory in Minto on Wednesday 18 March, in a show of support for the Australian manufacturing industry.
Mr Chanthivong toured DECO’s manufacturing facilities to learn more about the technical processes DECO use for our durable timber-look aluminium building products and industrial finishes, and gain an insight into our extensive in-house testing and research facilities.
Mr Chanthivong’s visit was an excellent opportunity to highlight the importance of working with local Australian businesses for durable, long-lasting solutions to architectural, transport and defence projects.
‘DECO is a world-class, innovative local business manufacturing excellent products and providing local jobs for the fast-growing South West Sydney region,’ he said.
Mr Chanthivong was particularly impressed with DECO’s timber-look finish for aluminium, DecoWood, and our non-combustible cladding product, DecoClad, which presents a viable solution to the cladding crisis.
DECO Australia director and founder Ross Doonan said it was important for local and federal governments to be aware that attractive, durable and fire-safe materials were available from local manufacturers. “Government bodies have the option to specify quality, Australian-made products which they can rely on to comply with Australian Standards as well as supporting Australian manufacturers at the same time.’
