DECO Australia was proud to sponsor the 2023 Sustainability Awards this month.  

Sponsor of the ‘Single Dwelling (Alternation)’ category, we were pleased to present the winning prize to Alexander Symes Architect for their ‘Music Room’ project, which targeted 'Enerphit Certification' – the adaptive re-use and renovation methodology of the Passive House Standard.  

Highly Commended was awarded to the ‘Copa Came In From the Cold’ by Environtecture, with 'Regeneration House' by Alexander Symes Architect and 'Meringo Seaview Pavilion' by Tastec, also shortlisted.  

Another fantastic achievement on the evening was the recognition of Capral’s LocAl lower carbon aluminium, awarded the ‘Green Building Product’ category winner. DECO was the first building product manufacturer to make the switch to LocAl Green in June this year and were ecstatic to see the lower-carbon product being recognised throughout the industry.
