DECO’s premium DecoWood timber-look finish allowed designer PKD to bring their vision to life for The Shire’s popular burger joint, Betty’s Burgers.
Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co launched its first venue back in 2014 and is now operating in 20 locations nationally. The restaurant features a modern twist on the typical ‘burger joint’ experience and is renowned for its mouth-watering burgers and frozen custard.
When it came to designing its latest venue in Cronulla, New South Wales, the restaurant had to reflect the brand’s quirky personality with quality fit out products that could handle the sun and salt spray of its surrounding coastal environment.
To achieve the desired natural timber aesthetic, specialist hospitality designer PKD specified DecoWood's Qualicoat Class 2 powder coating for the window and door frames. The marine grade and UV resistant qualities make it the ultimate external finish for the project’s coastal environment, and the low-maintenance and hygienic properties of the powder coat finish meant it was the perfect solution for high-traffic and busy hospitality environments.
The window and door frames were finished in DecoWood’s Natural Spotted Gum from DecoWood’s Australian Native Species, perfectly complementing the venues 1950’s beach shack vibe.
Also featuring a DecoWood finish are the DecoClad V-Groove cladding boards used on the external walls. The unique aluminium cladding system was finished in a custom, ‘whitewash’ timber grain to create a low-maintenance timber-look facade that matches the weather-beaten, rustic concept without the fuss and ongoing care of using real timber.
