The Palm Frond Retreat, situated in the exclusive suburb of Mosman, New South Wales, is a stunning architectural masterpiece designed by renowned Koichi Takada Architects. Inspired by the Palm Frond, which translate to "nature's umbrella", the architect's design inspiration has resulted in a sculptured exterior that blends beautifully with the natural landscape, offering ample shelter, shade and filtered natural sunlight.
The property's unique design is characterised by the flowing batten screens that wrap the house, creating an unforgettable visual spectacle against the nearby bushland and harbour views. Due to the orientation and location of the property, the screening also provides privacy as well as protection against the coastal weather patterns.
To ensure the durability and longevity of the screening and to reduce any going maintenance, Super Durable™ DecoWood® powder coat finish was selected for the exterior screening profiles, which were supplied by Capral. DecoWood® is ideal for finishing external façade applications, particularly in coastal areas, as its
'Class 2' powders are marine-grade, UV-resistant and require minimal maintenance.
To allow the screens to harmonise with the natural surroundings, the designers selected DecoWood® Maple, offering subtle off-pink timber tones that complement the environment and the overall design.
The property's unique design and the use of DecoWood® provide a seamless blend with the natural environment while creating private, bright, and light-filled spaces that are going to last. The Palm Frond Retreat is an exemplary property that represents the epitome of excellence in design and luxurious living.
DecoWood® finish can be applied to almost any aluminium profile. To find out complete our
