Uniquely designed by LOWI Interiors and Avenue Studios, this functional family home in Cronulla radiates relaxed seaside vibes and has curves in all the right places.

The Cross Project showcases classic design elements of traditional Mediterranean style blended with a modern aesthetic for a relaxed and effortless lifestyle.

The owners of this stunning home wanted to avoid the ongoing maintenance of natural timber - they have a young family and want to enjoy their weekends relaxing and avoiding home maintenance jobs. In addition to this, the home is also located within close proximity to the ocean, so the timber alternative had to withstand harsh coastal conditions, making DecoBatten™ an excellent solution for this project.

A unique tubular profile for DecoBatten™ was used to conceal the garage door and create a remarkable design statement. The battens were also installed on the side gate and access doors to the back yard, achieving a distinctive decorative feature and beautiful contrast of different shapes.
This home is all about curves, so the tubular profile was a match made in heaven!" Loretta commented.

The colour palette for this project required a subtle, washed out timber finish that would complement the other materials without competing to be the main attraction. "DecoWood® Natural Curly Birch was the perfect colour to compliment the faded terracotta pavers, white rendered walls, interior oak floorboards and timber veneer joinery, together all providing a sense of calm and sanctuary", says Loretta.

The DecoWood® marine grade and UV resistant powder coating is an an ideal finish for external façade applications in coastal locations, and the low-maintenance nature of the product will ensure the owners of this home enjoy it for many years to come.
