Aluminium Properties

Aluminium is an incredibly versatile material, preferred by builders and designers alike for its strength, durability, flexibility, lightness and corrosion-resistance.

It can also be adapted to many different architectural styles due to modern powder coating technology offering plain colour and decorative finishes, such as DecoWood timber look aluminium

DecoDeck is an innovative system designed with the durability and performance of aluminium in mind. The specially designed fixing system allows for the natural expansion and contraction ensuring your DecoDeck will perform like it should for years to come.

Powder Properties

DecoDeck aluminium decking is first powder coated, then sublimated with the image of woodgrain to create the realistic DecoWood timber look. The process is called photo imaging.

In addition to the Super Durable marine grade powder coating used on DecoDeck, the powder formulation contains particles of rubber, creating a non-slip surface and making DecoDeck suitable for use around pools, spas and outdoor areas.

About the Process

The process to achieve the natural timber look is the same process as how DecoWood powder coat finish is achieved, but using a different powder to include the rubber for the non-slip properties.

First the DecoDeck decking plank is pre-treated in a series of stages. This pre-treament process is what gives the aluminium its corrosion protection.

Then we powder coat the DecoDeck planks in our specially formulated non-slip powder coating, using a base colour to suit the timber look you have selected.

After the DecoDeck plank is powder coated, we then transfer photographic images of real timber grain directly into the powder coating under controlled conditions of heat and pressure. This process is known as 'sublimation' or 'photo-imaging'.
